The AvaSpec-ULS2048-EVO Fiber-optic Spectrometer features a CCD array (2048 pixels) and makes measurements over the 200 nm to 1100 nm range. As part of an appropriate product bundle, most Pine Research potentiostats are able to work together with this spectrometer to perform spectroelectrochemistry experiments.

The AvaSpec-ULS2048-EVO Spectrometer has the following features

  • 75 mm focal length
  • 2048 pixel CMOS detector
  • 16 bit A/D microprocessor on optical bench with ethernet interface
  • Detector collection lens for > 200 μm fiber optical cables (quartz 200-1100 nm)
  • 25 μm slit
  • 300 lines/mm grating, 200-1100 nm usable range with 1.4 nm resolution

Our unique UV/Vis spectroelectrochemical cell features a patterned "honeycomb" electrode which mounts easily inside a thin-layer quartz cuvette. A special cuvette cap securely holds the honeycomb electrode card and a separate reference electrode in the proper position within the cuvette.

  • 1.7 mm electrode path length
  • 12.5 x 12.5 x 45.0 mm3 cuvette dimensions 
  • Compatible in aqueous and non-aqueous electrolyte
  • Universal Specialty Cell Connection Kit (included) enables cell kit compatibility with ANY potentiostat

The Pine Research integrated UV/Vis spectroelectrochemical system allows you to control a potentiostat and spectrometer from a single software application to ensure proper timing integration, seamless operation, and ease of use. Our AfterMath® software now interfaces to the Avantes fiber-optic based AvaSpec-ULS2048-EVO UV/Vis spectrometer, enabling time resolved spectroelectrochemistry experiments.

A fully integrated system consists of three major components:

  • Spectroscopy Instrumentation - AvaSpec-ULS2048-EVO UV/Vis spectrometer, AvaLight deuterium-halogen light source, cuvette holder, and fiber-optic cables
  • Honeycomb Cuvette Cell Kit - Quartz cuvette with cap, one Pt honeycomb electrode, two Au honeycomb electrodes, Universal Specialty Cell Connection Kit and a low-profile reference electrode
  • Electrochemical Instrumentation - WaveNow or WaveDriver series potentiostat
