The ProboStat™ can be delivered with an stainless steel enclosing tube welded on a socket. The tube either replaces the standard alumina/quartz enclosing tube, or is mounted on the outside of this tube.

The ProboStat™ can be delivered with an stainless steel enclosing tube welded on a socket. The tube either replaces the standard alumina/quartz enclosing tube, or is mounted on the outside of this tube. The tube is important to use when applying high pressures to the cell, but can also be used for shielding. The furnace (while heating) produces alternating magnetic field that may affect certain types of measurements done with ProboStat. The stainless steel enclosing tube can be used in addition to the normal alumina enclosing tube to shield the inside of ProboStat from any outside interference. The tube socket ensures the electrical contact to the base unit. One must be aware that a solid metallic tube will conduct heat efficiently from the hot zone to the base unit, and one has to restrict operating temperature or apply extra cooling.
