Sustainion® Anion Exchange Membrane with a dry thickness at above 50 microns. They are moderately basic and designed for use with supporting electrolyte. Dioxide Materials has optimized them for use in alkaline water electrolyzers and in CO2 electrolyzers as described in Kutz et al. Energy Technology 5, 929-936 (2017) and Masel et al. ECS Transactions, 75 (14) 1143-1146 (2016).

The membranes are shipped with an ethylene glycol plasticizer to prevent cracking. The plasticizer is designed to wash out during activation.
