When using normal industrial thermometers in cooling applications, the thermometer housing cools down considerably due to the good thermal conductivity of the immersion tube and the aluminium casing. In case of high humidity, condensation may form on the casing. This effect can be avoided by using a thermometer with a condensation barrier.

Casing

Nominal size 150 mm, aluminium, V-shaped, smoothly polished on all sides, anodised in brass colour, numbers of the display range printed in black on the right-hand side of the scale under the anodised layer. Adjustable by means of brass lock nut (AF22), can be read in any viewing direction, 90° for angle thermometers, connection immersion tube / casing by grooved pin and locking screw. Advantage: No turning of the casing required during assembly.

Glass insert (capillary)

Prismatic capillary in rod form made of solid glass, approx. 8 mm Ø, and white background with blue liquid filling. The graduation of the capillary is burnt in black and therefore absolutely durable. Main graduation marks, which correspond to the numbers printed in the casing, are particularly strong and distinctive.

Thermometric filling

In standard version from -30 to 50 °C blue thermometric liquid ("Fü").

Immersion tube

Made of brass as a standard. Stainless steel on request. The diameter of the immersion tube type "B" is Ø 10 mm; wall thickness 1 mm.

Scale graduation values and error limits

SIKA industrial thermometers meet the requirements of DIN 16195 "Requirements and testing of industrial glass thermometers". Scale graduation values and error limits are defined depending on the casing size and the display range.

Condensation barrier

The length of the condensation barrier is 50 mm. As a side effect, this distance between the immersion tube nipple and the thermometer casing allows thick tube insulation to be bridged.

Sealing collar

Supplied as standard with sealing collar - reduces the penetration of moisture into the immersion tube (for outdoor installation, cooling applications)
