  • The PARSTAT 3000A-DX from Princeton Applied Research is both a hardware synchronized bipotentiostat/galvanostat and dual channel potentiostat/galvanostat in one.
  • The compact design, based on the popular PARSTAT 3000A, combines 2 high performance, independent potentiostats in a single chassis. Combine this with a hardware synchronized start and the VersaStudio software platform for a fully functional bipotentiostat that is suitable for a range of applications from mechanistic studies and electrocatalyst evaluation using a rotating ring disk electrode (RRDE) to sensor development.
  • Key features of the PARSTAT 3000A-DX include:
    • +/- 2 A of current and +/- 30 V polarization and compliance
    • Up to 7 MHz EIS as standard
    • 4 nA (120 fA resolution) as standard
    • 6-WIRE capability to measure an auxiliary voltage
    • Floating ground
    • Data acquisition rate of up to 1000 kS/sec (1 µs time per point)
  • As a true bipotentiostat the PARSTAT 3000A-DX can control the signal and measure the response of two different working electrodes in the same cell with separate or shared reference and counter electrodes.
  • The floating capability and hardware synchronization of the PARSTAT 3000A-DX, along with the wide range of available techniques in VersaStudio, make for an ideal and flexible bipotentiostat/galvanostat.
  • Princeton Applied Research also offers rotators, RRDE electrodes and associated accessories for a complete RRDE setup.
  • When not used as a bipotentiostat, the PARSTAT 3000A-DX can run two asynchronous experiments on completely separate electrochemical cells. The outstanding specifications accommodate a range of applications highlighted below.
    • +/- 30 V compliance – Corrosion analysis in low conductivity electrolyte, large surface area samples and non-aqueous electrochemistry, including ionic liquids and molten salts
    • +/-30 V polarization – Study of high voltage batteries and battery stacks
    • Wide dynamic current range (+/- 2 A to 4 nA) – 10 current ranges allow for detection of a low concentration analyte common in electroanalytical chemistry and measurement of high currents associated with high surface area nanostructured electrodes for capacitor development
    • 7 MHz EIS – Solid-state materials analysis and measurements of equivalent series resistance (ESR) and uncompensated resistance
